FloridaCommerce Pay-for-Performance Apprenticeship Grants

FloridaCommerce was awarded $40 million on July 8, 2026 to lead a nationwide pay-for-performance incentive program, with a deliberate focus on maritime industrial shipbuilding and the defense industrial base, and additional targeting of aerospace, aviation, advanced manufacturing, and construction trades.

Incentive payments go to Registered Apprenticeship sponsors as apprentices reach verified retention and progression milestones. Check the FloridaCommerce page for implementation updates and ways to participate.

Eligible applicants are Registered Apprenticeship program sponsors. Occupations must align with the defense industrial base, shipbuilding, maritime manufacturing, aerospace, aviation, construction, or related trades as defined by the administrator.

Performance-based incentive payments to RAP sponsors. At least 85% of the federal award is intended to flow to sponsors.
