Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant Apprentice to join our team. Responsibilities Assist with chairside procedures across various dental specialties, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Support the dental team in maintaining infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Operate electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to accurately document patient information and medical records. Take digital dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety standards. Help manage patient flow by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and performing administrative duties as a dental receptionist. Assist with medical imaging procedures and vital signs measurement to support comprehensive patient assessments. Learn and apply dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding practices relevant to dental documentation. Support four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during procedures. Participate in ongoing training related to infection control, medical documentation, and the use of advanced tools like 3D scanners. Experience Previous experience in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for suitable candidates. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is advantageous. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is essential. Interest or background in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry enhances suitability for this role. Understanding of dental assisting procedures including X-ray taking, chairside assisting, and vital signs measurement is beneficial. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude toward learning.
