At WorkHands, we believe in one thing -- Making Apprenticeship Simpler.
That’s why we’re excited to announce that our platform is now available in Spanish. For many apprentices, the one incredibly difficult part of their apprenticeship is bridging a language divide. For some, this is part of the balance of learning many things as an apprentice. For others, it's core to the program.
These days, we see a bunch of apprenticeships that are Spanish-speaking first -- Spanish related instruction, Spanish OJT, etc. -- because they're working with Spanish speaking communities in the medical field or in early childhood education.
Starting today, Spanish-speaking apprentices, employers, and educators can use WorkHands in their preferred language—making it easier than ever to track progress, stay connected, and access opportunities.
Whether you’re browsing our site for the first time or managing your account every day, switching to Spanish is simple and seamless.
In the early days of WorkHands, we simply hadn't architected the site to support multiple language. It's a non-trivial update.
We had some clients who even preferred that we did not translate WorkHands. If a core part of their apprenticeship was learning to work and communicate in English, they wanted WorkHands in English, too.
That's changed as apprenticeship has changed -- programs in Puerto Rico, programs in early childhood education for Spanish speaking communities, medical fields, etc. More apprenticeships simply need to be managed in at least these two languages.
In addition, online tools have made managing multiple languages much, much simpler for small teams like WorkHands.
The timing was simply right.
Over 40+ million Americans speak Spanish natively and nearly 60 million speak some Spanish. Spanish is by far the most widely spoken non-English language in the U.S. workforce, and making apprenticeship simpler quite simply means making it more accessible to Spanish speakers as well.
If you'd like to switch your WorkHands account to default to Spanish, it's quite simple. Go to your Settings while logged in, choose your Language, and then flip the toggle from English to Spanish.
The site will immediately switch over to Spanish.
If you're new to WorkHands, we'll prompt you the moment you sign up if you'd prefer Spanish based on the settings in your device or browser.
Once switched over, your entire logged-in version of the application will be in Spanish with just a few exceptions. Program-supplied content such as work process schedules, related instruction outlines, and the like are still only available in the provided language. If your program supplies Spanish language content, we can use it. If they supply English-language content, we need to use that.
For our public pages, our blogs, and other WorkHands assets beyond the application, results may vary. Increasingly, you'll find a En | Es option on posts such as this one. That means a Spanish language version exists if you prefer a translation.
Our blogs and FAQs will be fully translated soon, but you may find some versions yet to be translated in the short-term.
Next, we're working on adding more Spanish language support for our videos and, finally, adding more native Spanish speaking teammates to our support team.
In the meantime, if you find something that needs a translation -- or needs a better translation -- dont hesitate to call it out!
Estamos muy emocionados de compartir este momento con ustedes. Gracias por su paciencia. Disfrute WorkHands en su primer idioma por la primera vez!
