The Western Virginia Water Authority is proud to offer a registered apprenticeship program designed to equip high school students with the skills needed for successful careers in the water industry. Since its launch in 2017, this initiative has focused on providing hands-on training in various essential occupations, including Construction Craft Laborers, Electricians, and Water Treatment Specialists.
Through collaboration with local schools in Salem, Roanoke County, and Roanoke City, the program emphasizes innovative practices in workforce training, preparing the next generation of professionals to support our community's water systems. The apprenticeship program not only benefits participants but also strengthens our community by ensuring a skilled workforce in vital public services.
