A therapeutic horseback riding instructor adapts teaching strategies and techniques in order to teach horseback riding lessons to individuals with physical, cognitive, or emotional disabilities. This requires extensive knowledge of working with and riding horses, as well as disabilities. Therapeutic horseback riding instructors must also be patient, creative, organized, self-managed, flexible in their thinking, and have excellent critical thinking skills.
