We are a custom steel fabrication company looking for a dependable, motivated Shop Laborer / Apprentice who is interested in learning welding and the steel fabrication trade. No professional welding experience is required - we will train the right person. However, this position is best suited for someone who enjoys hands-on work, has some mechanical ability or general trades experience, and has a genuine interest in learning steel fabrication and welding . This is not a warehouse or general packing position . You will be working in an active metal fabrication shop alongside experienced craftsmen and will be expected to learn the tools, equipment, and skills used to fabricate custom steel products. What You Will Learn & Do Assist with general steel fabrication and shop work Learn MIG welding and steel grinding/finishing Learn to operate an automated steel cutting saw Learn to operate an automated drilling machine Measure, cut, drill, grind, and prepare steel for fabrication Assist experienced fabricators and welders Organize steel, materials, tools, and equipment Maintain a clean, safe, and organized fabrication shop Load, unload, and move steel and fabricated products Develop fabrication skills as your experience increases Who We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who: Has a genuine interest in welding, metalworking, or steel fabrication Enjoys working with tools and building things Has some mechanical aptitude or experience with general trades Is comfortable performing physical, hands-on work Can accurately use a tape measure or is willing to learn Is dependable and shows up to work on time Is willing to listen, learn, and follow instructions Takes pride in keeping a shop and work area organized Wants to develop a skilled trade rather than simply looking for a temporary labor position Previous experience in construction, welding, automotive work, mechanics, carpentry, metalworking, or another hands-on trade is helpful, but not required .
