Become an Apprentice

Overview

Governor Moore at IBEW Local 26 Apprenticeship Graduation, June 2025 (Photo credit: Anthony DePanise) Becoming an apprentice starts with finding an apprenticeship program that is right for you. Start by using Maryland’s Apprenticeship Locator to search apprenticeship programs by county, occupation, industry, or sponsor. From there, you can find a program’s contact information to request additional information about positions, deadlines, and other requirements. Apprenticeships are jobs from day one. Most require an application and/or interview. Apprentices must be eligible to work in the United States.
