Position Description
The results-driven HVACR Training Instructor will lead the development of our Apprentice Technicians within our in-house training facility. This role is accountable for transforming entry-level Apprentices into safe, productive, and billable field technicians in a defined timeframe.
This is not a passive teaching role, and instead the HVACR Training Instructor will thrive in a structured, accountability-driven environment and be energized by measurable outcomes, continuous improvement, and developing the next generation of skilled trades professionals.

Qualifications and Competencies:
Five+ years of HVACR field experience (service or installation)
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and troubleshooting
Prior training, teaching, or mentorship experience preferred
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple trainees at different levels
Comfortable using data and metrics to drive decisions and improvements
Clear and accurate data entry skills

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Take full ownership of apprentice progression from onboarding through field readiness
Ensure trainees meet defined competency benchmarks within targeted timelines
Hold apprentices accountable to performance, attendance, and engagement standards
Execute and continuously improve a standardized HVACR training curriculum
Deliver hands-on and classroom instruction in safety, technical skills, and troubleshooting
Document and maintain clear, repeatable training processes that are followed by all
Maintain a weekly training scorecard with key performance indicators (KPIs)
Monitor apprentice progress including skill mastery, retention, and readiness
Provide clear, data-driven updates to leadership on performance and gaps
Partner with Service Managers and Field Supervisors to align training with real-world needs
Support apprentice transition into the field and validate skill application
Gather and incorporate field feedback to improve training effectiveness
Identify training gaps, skill deficiencies, and process breakdowns
Lead problem-solving efforts and implement improvements
Bring proactive solutions that enhance speed to competency and overall program impact

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Office-based position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required (67% - 100%) of the workday
Ability and willingness to travel to local as well as remote locations (out of town, out of state) for short and/or extended periods of time.
Ability to hear and verbally communicate effectively.
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
Must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction).
Use hands, fingers, arms, and legs to safely manipulate objects.
Lift and carry supplies and materials weighing up to 25 lbs.
Requires ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at waist.
Wear the proper PPE: safety boots that cover at least the ankle, clean denim or appropriate work pants without tears or rips, safety glasses, and gloves, if visiting a job site.
Pay: $40.00 - $44.00 per hour
