We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Flooring Apprentice to join our dynamic construction team. This entry-level role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop hands-on skills in flooring installation and restoration across various projects. As a Flooring Apprentice, you will assist experienced tradespeople in installing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of flooring materials, including hardwood, vinyl, tile, epoxy, and carpet. Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation of surfaces and subfloors in accordance with construction plans and schematics.
Support the installation of various flooring types such as hardwood, vinyl, tile, epoxy coatings, and carpet under supervision.
Use hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and lay flooring materials accurately.
Help with floor refinishing tasks including buffing, sanding, sealing, and water damage restoration processes.
Maintain strict adherence to building material installation safety protocols and site safety regulations.
Support the handling of building materials and equipment through manual handling techniques while ensuring safe practices.
Participate in site cleanup, material storage, and organization to promote an efficient work environment.
Learn about floor care maintenance routines to support ongoing project quality and client satisfaction.
Experience
No prior professional experience required; however, construction site experience or hands-on work with hand tools is a plus.
Basic understanding of construction estimating or blueprint reading is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided.
Familiarity with construction safety compliance standards is preferred.
Previous experience in restoration industry work or handyman roles can be beneficial.
Willingness to learn new skills such as epoxy floor installation, caulking, tile installation, vinyl, moisture systems, cement productshro, and more though on-the-job training.
Strong manual handling skills coupled with a proactive attitude towards safety and teamwork are essential for success in this role.
