This is an entry-level, hands-on role focused on assisting, learning, and executing tasks under direction — not running jobs independently. You'll work closely with a lead technician to keep jobs moving efficiently: carrying materials, prepping sites, performing basic carpentry and maintenance tasks, cleanup, staging, and supporting the lead with whatever is needed to complete the job. This is a great fit for someone who wants steady work, wants to learn the trades, and can follow direction without ego. You can set your own hours that are mutually agreeable with you and the company. This is a flexible arrangement that will vary in the amount of work available from week to week, based on the client committments. --- ABOUT US TLC & Sons, LLC operates across RI and MA in real estate investing, general contracting, and property/facilities management. We run multiple job sites at once and maintain a professional, organized, no‑nonsense operations culture. --- WHAT YOU'LL DO • Assist lead technicians with carpentry, repairs, installations, and maintenance • Carry materials, tools, debris, and equipment (must handle 50 lbs) • Perform basic tasks: demo, cleanup, staging, painting prep, patching, flooring support, etc. • Support rental turnovers (cleaning, make-ready tasks, punch list items) • Help with exterior tasks: landscaping support, gutter clearing, weatherproofing, power washing • Document work with photos and notes using Slack • Follow direction, ask questions when unsure, and keep communication professional • Contractors determine their own methods and means of completing accepted tasks - we define the project scope, budget and outcome Every day is different — you may be at multiple sites, helping with multiple scopes. --- DAILY RHYTHM • Optional morning coordination call via Google Meet to review available projects and confirm which tasks you want to accept. • Receive tasks via our work order system - you can choose to take it or give to someone else • Work directly with a mid-level technician or other contractors • Submit photos and notes at the end of each job to document the work for billing and communication • Weekly invoicing (no handwritten invoices) on Mondays --- REQUIREMENTS • 1-3 years experience in construction, maintenance, landscaping, or similar hands-on work • Ability to follow direction and work as part of a small team • Reliable transportation (truck/van preferred but not required at this level) • Basic hand tools (we can advise what's needed) • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs • Smartphone with Slack + Google Workspace • Professional communication and reliability • Willingness to learn and grow into more advanced tasks • General liability insurance (or willingness to obtain) --- COMPENSATION • $22-$28/hr depending on skill, tools, and reliability • Mileage reimbursed between job sites • Consistent work for dependable performers • Opportunities to grow into mid-level roles with higher pay --- WORK VOLUME • Work amount will vary from week to week • Our project schedules are affected by a number of factors - weather, availability of material on-site, client readiness, permits, etc. • We try to as much information about upcoming projects as possible - but not guaranteed • We typically have about 5 to 6 open projects simultanously - you can chose which projects you want to participate in --- THIS ROLE IS NOT A FIT IF… • You need constant supervision • You cannot follow direction from a lead technician • You are not comfortable with technology • You cannot handle physical labor • You do not have reliable transportation • You are looking for a W‑2 job — this is 1099 because work volume varies • You cannot work at multiple sites in a single day --- HOW TO APPLY Email the following: 1.
