Tiki's Playhouse is looking for a motivated Operations Manager Apprentice to join our team through a Registered Apprenticeship Program approved by the U.S. Department of Labor.
This is a 2-year, paid apprenticeship designed for someone who wants to develop the skills needed to manage a business—and potentially own one. You'll gain hands-on experience in dog care, operations, customer service, administration, and business management while receiving classroom instruction and mentorship.

What You'll Learn
Daily business operations and management
Dog care, handling, and behavior
Customer service and client communication
Office administration and organization
Scheduling, records, and basic business technology
Social media, marketing, and events
Team leadership and problem-solving
Different operating shifts and areas of the business
Schedule & Training
40 hours per week
Variable shifts designed to provide experience across all aspects of the business
Weekends and holidays are required as needed
Must be willing to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Hands-on training with dogs is an essential part of the position
Additional reading, coursework, and training assignments will be required

4,318 hours of paid on-the-job training
144 hours of related classroom instruction per year(PAID)
Starting wage: $16/hour , with progressive wage increases as skills are developed
Maryland Department of Labor industry-recognized credential upon completion

18 years or older with a high school diploma
Must enjoy working with dogs
Strong communication and organizational skills
Reliable, responsible, and willing to learn
Comfortable using computers, phones, Microsoft Office, and basic business technology
Interested in business ownership, management, or entrepreneurship
Willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
