The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) for Plumbers & Steamfitters, Local Union #7, will conduct a recruitment from October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026 for five Plumber and Pipefitter apprentices, five Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Mechanic apprentices, and five Welder (Industrial) apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today.Applications can be obtained at Local Union #7, 18 Avis Drive, Latham, NY 12110, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. the first Thursday of every month, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. All applications must be received no later than September 1, 2026.The Committee requires that applicants:Must be at least 18 years old.Must have a high school diploma or a high school equivalency diploma (such as TASC or GED).Must be physically able to perform the work required as determined by a physical exam and drug testing after selection and prior to enrollment in apprenticeship, at the expense of the sponsor.Must take and pass the “Wonderlic Basic Skills” aptitude test.
