Responsibilities
Assist experienced craftsmen in fabricating and assembling custom millwork components according to blueprint specifications.
Operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and machinery safely and efficiently to cut, shape, and assemble materials.
Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate measurements and fabrication.
Handle materials responsibly within the shop environment, including materials handling and storage of wood, composites, and other building materials.
Perform dimensional measurements and quality control checks using tape measures and other measurement tools to ensure precision.
Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
Support the setup and cleanup of workstations, ensuring compliance with shop math standards and manufacturing best practices.
Skills
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and tape measures for precise woodworking tasks.
Basic mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
Strong understanding of shop math necessary for measurements, calculations, and fabrication processes.
Experience with woodworking, millwork fabrication, assembly techniques, and construction fundamentals.
Knowledge of composite materials used in manufacturing environments along with materials handling procedures.
Ability to read blueprints thoroughly to follow detailed specifications for fabrication projects.
Familiarity with machining processes, measurement (quality control), and safety protocols essential for maintaining high standards in a manufacturing setting.
