MaineHealth, in partnership with Southern Maine Community College (SMCC), is now accepting applications for our February 2027 Medical Assistant Apprenticeship cohort, scheduled to begin February 22, 2027. This 9-month, paid, full-time (40 hours/week) program combines: One day per week of classroom instruction at SMCC Four days per week gaining hands-on patient care experience at a MaineHealth outpatient/ambulatory practice in Southern Maine Application Deadline: October 30, 2026, or sooner if a sufficient number of applications are received. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Active enrollment and advancement with a grade of C or better in an approved Medical Assisting Apprenticeship Program required. License/Certifications: Current BLS certification required or must be obtained prior to clinical training. NH Med Tech License is required for those positions located in Hampshire.
