We are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys working with their hands, and is interested in developing a career in small-engine and outdoor power equipment repair . The apprentice will work alongside experienced mechanics while learning how to diagnose, maintain, and repair a variety of equipment, including lawn mowers, snow blowers, and other small-engine equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with basic mechanical knowledge who wants to learn the trade through hands-on, on-the-job training with a well-established local company. Responsibilities Assist experienced mechanics with diagnosing and repairing equipment Learn to diagnose and repair small engines and outdoor power equipment Perform routine preventative maintenance and scheduled service Assist with oil changes, tune-ups, blade changes, belts, filters, spark plugs, and other routine repairs Learn to troubleshoot engines, electrical systems, fuel systems, and other mechanical components Assist with equipment inspections and identifying needed repairs Learn how to identify and order necessary parts Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs Keep the shop, tools, and work areas clean, organized, and safe Prepare repaired equipment for return to customers Follow instructions and work closely with experienced mechanics and management Qualifications No professional mechanic experience required Basic mechanical knowledge or experience working on small engines, vehicles, equipment, motorcycles, ATVs, or similar machinery is preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in learning small-engine repair Comfortable working with hand and power tools Willingness to learn diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team Strong attention to detail Valid driver's license Ability to safely lift and handle equipment and parts as required Trade school, vocational school, automotive, or small-engine training is a plus but not required What We Offer Full-time, year-round employment Hands-on training with experienced mechanics Opportunity to learn a skilled trade Competitive hourly pay based on experience and mechanical ability Consistent work schedule Stable position with an established local company Opportunities to expand your mechanical knowledge and skills Opportunity for advancement as your skills and experience develop Supportive, team-oriented work environment About Maestranzi Bros.
