Responsibilities Perform a variety of natural hair styling services, including braiding, twisting, locs, and protective styles, ensuring precision and client satisfaction. Consult with clients to understand their hair goals, offering professional advice on hair care routines, maintenance, and suitable styles. Maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene by properly sterilizing tools and adhering to health regulations. Stay current with industry trends, new techniques, and product innovations to provide clients with modern and effective styling options. Manage appointment scheduling efficiently using salon software such as MINDBODY or similar platforms; handle front desk duties when necessary. Upsell retail products related to hair care, extensions, and styling tools to enhance client experience and salon revenue. Mentor junior stylists or apprentices by sharing expertise in natural hair care practices and customer service excellence. Requirements Proven experience working in the beauty industry with a focus on natural hair styling, braiding, or barbering techniques. Proficiency with salon software systems such as MEEVO for appointment management and client records. Knowledge of hair care principles including hair extensions, coloring, threading, eyelash extensions, makeup application, and nail care is highly desirable. Strong communication skills for effective client consultation and retail sales upselling. Familiarity with sanitation standards and proper sterilization procedures for tools and equipment. Certification in cosmetology or barbering from an accredited institution is required; additional training in color theory or advanced styling is a plus. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
