This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in fire protection systems, including fire alarm, sprinkler fitting, fire extinguisher service, backflow inspection and low voltage systems. The ideal candidate will develop technical skills in system design, construction inspection, and electrical components while working under the guidance of experienced technicians. This role provides a valuable opportunity to build a career in fire safety services with comprehensive training and exposure to various aspects of fire protection systems. Responsibilities Assist in the installation, maintenance, service, inspection and repair of fire alarm, sprinkler systems and other fire systems. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and system design documents. Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform field service tasks. Conduct construction inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and codes such as NFPA & NEC. Assist with system troubleshooting and diagnostics using electrical knowledge and schematics. Participate in the installation of sensors, control panels, and other fire alarm components. Collaborate with team members on project site setup, system testing, and commissioning activities. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and system configurations. Requirements Basic understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and system design principles. Knowledge of fire sprinkler fitting, fire alarm systems, fire protection and low voltage wiring preferred but not necessary. Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools and power tools such as drills, saws, etc. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics. Ability to work safely on construction sites following all safety protocols. Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn new skills in fire protection systems. Valid driver's license preferred for field service responsibilities. Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs. Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc. Valid Colorado Driver's License, reliable transportation to work sites Ability to work accurately, efficiently, and independently Strong time management skills, including ability to meet deadlines.
