As a Tile Installer Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced installers, learning the techniques, tools, and craftsmanship required to install commercial tile flooring and wall systems. This position is ideal for candidates with construction, flooring, remodeling, or general labor experience who are eager to learn and grow. What You'll Learn Ceramic tile installation Porcelain tile installation Quarry tile installation Floor and wall tile applications Surface preparation and waterproofing systems Tile layout and pattern installation Grouting and finishing techniques Safe operation of tile tools and equipment Responsibilities Assist experienced tile installers on commercial construction projects Prepare floors and walls for tile installation Mix mortar, grout, and other installation materials Measure, cut, and stage tile materials Maintain tools, equipment, and job site cleanliness Learn proper installation techniques and industry best practices Follow all company and job site safety requirements Work with team members to complete projects on schedule Travel to project locations throughout Indiana as needed Qualifications Construction, flooring, remodeling, or labor experience preferred but not required Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Reliable transportation Valid driver's license preferred Ability to work effectively on a team Basic math and measurement skills Dependable attendance and positive attitude Ability to work in physically demanding environments Travel Requirements Position is based in the Greater Indianapolis area Regular travel throughout Indiana is required Occasional overnight travel may be necessary depending on project location Hotel accommodations and per diem provided when applicable Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds Ability to kneel, bend, crouch, and work on hands and knees for extended periods Ability to stand and move throughout the workday Ability to work in active construction environments and varying conditions Safely operate hand and power tools Benefits Starting pay of $18.00 per hour Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Paid training and skill development Advancement opportunities into Installer and Lead Installer roles Stable, year-round work with a growing company About Jack Laurie Group For more than 70 years, Jack Laurie Group has been a leader in commercial flooring, tile, specialty surfaces, and facility solutions across Indiana and the Midwest.
