IBS / HAWK is looking for a Broadcast & SCADA Technician to join our team. We're a small, family-owned company specializing in SCADA and industrial control systems and radio and television broadcast engineering .
Our technicians work on everything from control panels, telemetry, and remote monitoring systems to AM/FM/TV transmitters and other industrial communications equipment.
Broadcast or SCADA experience is helpful, but it isn't required. Training will be provided.
What you'll do
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot SCADA, broadcast, communications, and remote-monitoring equipment
Build and wire control panels and RTUs
Build cables, and install electrical and electronic components
Install sensors, antennas, cabling, control panels, and equipment racks
Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, networking, RF, communications, and control-system problems
Assist with installation, commissioning, and maintenance of radio and television transmitters
Perform field service, preventive maintenance, repairs, and system upgrades
Provide telephone and remote technical support to customers and escalate complex issues when needed
Read and work from wiring diagrams, schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals
Maintain accurate service reports and project documentation
Help identify, order, receive, and track parts and materials
Required qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong electrical, electronic, mechanical, or computer aptitude
Ability to diagnose problems and follow them through to resolution
Ability to communicate technical information clearly to customers
Ability to recognize when an issue requires engineering or senior-level assistance
Ability to read technical instructions, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentation
Basic PC computer and networking skills
Ability to use common hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Professional communication and customer-service skills
Valid driver's license and good driving record
Ability and willingness to travel as required
Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays when assigned
Preferred qualifications
Technical school, associate degree, military technical training, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in electronics, electrical systems, industrial controls, networking, telecommunications, or broadcast technology
Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, RTUs, telemetry, industrial controls, or remote-monitoring equipment
Experience with RF systems, broadcast transmitters, or other broadcast equipment
Experience troubleshooting electrical or electronic equipment
Experience providing telephone or remote technical support
Experience working at remote technical or industrial sites
Manufacturer training or relevant industry certifications

Compensation & benefits
Pay: $51,000/yr (based on qualifications and experience) + quarterly bonuses after first 6 months
Benefits: Blue Cross Blue Shield with $500 deductible; 401K, 12 days of paid vacation (full week of Christmas), PTO
Schedule: Full-time, M-F, 8-5, plus a rotating on-call schedule
Travel: Regular travel to customer locations with occasional overnight or multi-day assignments
Location: Starkville, Mississippi
