Description
Ceramic Painting Apprentice / Studio Artist Assistant
GTG / SGA - Valdosta, GA
Overview
Join the GTG / SGA - Valdosta, GA studio as a Ceramic Painting Apprentice / Studio Artist Assistant , where creativity, craftsmanship, and hands-on training come together.
We are growing and looking for 1-2 creative, dependable individuals who have natural artistic ability and would like the opportunity to develop their skills in a professional ceramic art studio.
You do not need to be a professional artist, have an art degree, or have years of ceramic experience. We are willing to train the right person.
However, this position does require more than simply enjoying arts and crafts. GTG / SGA has a distinctive and recognizable hand-painted ceramic style , and we are looking for someone who has the artistic foundation and ability to learn that style.
You will learn how to hand-paint a variety of ceramic pieces using our established designs, colors, brushwork, glazing techniques, and painting methods.
An important part of this position is being able to look at an existing piece or reference design and learn to recreate its overall look, proportions, brushwork, colors, and character consistently.
Even experienced artists often develop their own personal style. For this position, we are specifically looking for someone who is comfortable learning and working within GTG / SGA established artistic style while still maintaining the handmade quality and individuality of each piece.
This is a paid, hands-on apprenticeship position with the opportunity to learn, practice, improve, and become an important part of our ceramic painting team.
If you have always been artistic but have never considered yourself a professional artist, we still encourage you to apply.
