Job Summary To Apply for this Job Click Here Field Coordinator - Mechanical Piping | Industrial Field and Project Coordination Experienced industrial mechanical-piping professional with 5+ years of progressive experience in industrial mechanical piping, plumbing, hydronics, process piping, or related mechanical construction. Background combines field leadership with project coordination rather than being limited to an office-only coordinator or working-foreman role. Coordinated mechanical projects from estimator turnover and preconstruction planning through field execution, testing, punch-list completion, closeout, and turnover. Reviewed estimates, contract drawings, specifications, scope, schedules, subcontracts, change orders, and project requirements before mobilization. Worked with Foremen to develop execution plans covering installation sequence, crew requirements, material releases, fabrication, equipment, access, permits, inspections, testing, milestones, and other-trade dependencies. Maintained short-term or two- to three-week look-ahead schedules and communicated recovery needs when actual progress differed from plan. Provided visible jobsite leadership while respecting the established field chain of command. Coordinated daily activities with Foremen, Journeymen, Apprentices, subcontractors, General Contractors, owners, engineers, inspectors, vendors, and other trades. Verified manpower, progress, installation quality, housekeeping, safety, access, and readiness for upcoming work. Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical-piping installation, fabrication, supports and hangers, field layout, dimensions, elevations, equipment connections, pressure testing, flushing, startup, commissioning, and turnover. Read and interpreted construction drawings, specifications, scopes, schedules, revisions, and change documentation. Coordinated material takeoffs, releases, purchasing, fabrication, deliveries, staging, shortages, returns, lifts, vehicles, tools, and equipment with Estimators, fabrication shops, warehouses, vendors, and field teams. Forecast labor and resource needs so crews had current information, materials, equipment, and decisions when required. Supported RFIs, submittals, change-order documentation, field sketches, daily reports, progress updates, meeting notes, as-built drawings, testing records, punch lists, and closeout documents. Managed field changes, confirmed approved direction, and maintained accurate project information for estimating, forecasting, billing, and final turnover. Tracked labor hours, installed quantities, material costs, equipment use, productivity, milestones, and project status. Identified scope gaps, design conflicts, long-lead items, access restrictions, site conditions, and cost or schedule risks early and followed issues through final resolution. Reinforced jobsite safety and quality expectations through AHAs, JHAs, toolbox talks, housekeeping, inspections, and direct field follow-up. Verified installation against drawings, specifications, applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and accepted means and methods while correcting deficiencies before turnover. Organized, accountable, and practical communicator able to move among jobsites, project meetings, office planning, the fabrication shop, and field crews. Experience with Microsoft Office, project-management systems, digital field reporting, and electronic document control, supported by a current driver's license and regular local jobsite travel.
