Description
Lube Technician | Your Fast Track to Becoming a Certified Tech
Tired of turning wrenches at a dead-end lube shop with nowhere to go? Dick Genthe Chevrolet is ready to invest in your future. This isn't just an oil-and-tire gig—it's your foot in the door at a premiere dealership with a clear, direct path into the main shop.
If you show up, hustle, and prove your work ethic, we will mentor you, pair you with senior technicians, and train you up into a full-fledged, high-earning line technician.
What You'll Do
Handle the Fundamentals: Knock out oil and filter changes, fluid exchanges, and cabin/engine air filter replacements with speed and precision.
Tire Service: Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires using modern equipment to OEM specs.
Safety First: Perform multi-point vehicle inspections (MPIs) to catch worn brakes, leaks, and critical issues before cars roll off the lift.
Maintain the Bay: Keep your lift area, tools, and fluid stations clean, organized, and safe.
Learn & Shadow: Soak up knowledge, assist line mechanics during down moments, and prep yourself for the jump to heavy-line repairs.
The Pathway to Main Shop
We don't keep our best talent locked in the express lane.
Master the lube rack, demonstrate rock-solid attendance and attention to detail, and we will move you into the back shop to begin paid apprentice training for GM certifications and master technician status.
What You Bring
The Foundation: Basic hands-on experience in an automotive shop, quick-lube, tech school, or body shop.
