The International Union of Elevator Constructors Local #93 Joint Apprenticeship Program which is based in Nashville, TN (and includes Knoxville, TN and Chattanooga, TN) will be accepting applications beginning July 28th, 2023. Applications will be accepted from 6:00amcentral time July 28 ,2023 through August 11,2023 at 6:00pm central time. Completed applications must be submitted by August 12,2023 @ 6:00pm central time.Applicants passing the aptitude test with at least a 70% with be scheduled for a tool assessment and interview. the interview applicants receive a composite score and are placed on a ranked hiring list using the score. Applicants are hired as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the installation, maintenance, andrepair of the passenger and freight elevators,escalators, dumbwaiters and moving sidewalksunder the direction of a Mechanic.• Manually loading, unloading and movingmaterials, equipment and tools from vehicles towork areas. Requires lifting parts weighing upto 100 lbs.• Manually cleaning elevator car tops, machinerooms, pits, rails, and hoistways within non-controlled climate fi eld setting.• Manually painting machine rooms and pit.• Using periods of high concentration and knowledge of elevator systems to assist Mechanic in electrical and mechanical installation, repair or service operations. Requires following written or verbal directions of mechanic and/or fi eld superintendent. Requires color perception to distinguish color-coded wiring components.• Maintaining elevator lighting fixtures.• Visually and audibly monitoring equipment operation to determine faulty functioning. Requires ability to withstand heights and cramped working conditions.

Mechanically inclined & must pass aptitude test.
