Machinist III DP Professionals · Lake Charles, Louisiana · PERMANENT Updated 08/2026 Job Description Job Summary DPP is seeking a Machinist III for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing industry. Work location: Onsite in Lake Charles, LA Duration: 12 months Shift: Must be able to work Mon-Thurs 6:00AM-4:42PM or Mon-Thurs 4:00PM-2:42AM; overtime worked on weekends Terms: W2 Contract Work Authorization: US Citizen Responsibilities: Set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exact tolerances and dimensions. Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications. Determine sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup. Use a variety of machinist hands tools and precision measuring instruments. Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds. Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining. Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment and determine materials, parts, and equipment required. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
