The Opportunity:
Byers Industrial Services, headquartered in Franklinville, New Jersey, is actively seeking strong, experienced Electrical Foremen local to South Jersey and the Greater Philadelphia area to support our growing industrial electrical construction operations.
Our headquarters is located in Franklinville, but this position is not limited to work at our Franklinville facility. Byers performs electrical construction throughout South Jersey, the Greater Philadelphia region, and on projects across the United States.
Our primary goal is to strengthen our local electrical leadership team with proven Foremen who can support projects throughout the South Jersey and Philadelphia markets. We also have national project opportunities for Foremen who are interested in and available for travel.
We are looking for proven field leaders and well-rounded industrial electricians who can step onto an active construction site, take ownership of a crew, understand the scope of work, coordinate manpower, troubleshoot field issues, and keep production moving safely and efficiently.
This is not an entry-level leadership position.
Candidates must have verifiable previous experience working as an Electrical Foreman, Lead Electrician, or comparable electrical field leader with responsibility for directing electricians and apprentices, coordinating daily work, and maintaining jobsite production.
Pay ranges from $40-$50/hour based on experience, technical capability, leadership level, and travel availability. Candidates approaching the top of the range should expect greater involvement in national travel assignments based on project demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, supervise, train, and coordinate electrical crews on active industrial construction projects
Plan daily work activities, assign manpower, and maintain production goals and project schedules
Take ownership of crew performance, productivity, workmanship, safety, and overall execution
Read and interpret electrical blueprints, one-lines, schematics, drawings, specifications, and technical documents
Coordinate electrical installations with Superintendents, Project Managers, General Contractors, and other trades
Oversee installation of EMT, Rigid, and PVC conduit ranging from 3/4" to 4"
Supervise installation of basket and ladder cable tray systems
Coordinate and oversee bus duct installation
Direct and assist with wire pulls ranging from 12 AWG up to 750 kcmil
Oversee electrical terminations at panels, switchgear, distribution equipment, transformers, motor controls, and devices
Ensure proper layout and installation of conduit racks, supports, strut systems, and electrical equipment
Coordinate underground and overhead electrical rough-in
Provide leadership involving 3-phase electrical systems and terminations
Work with industrial control panels, PLCs, and motor control systems
Support installation and troubleshooting of transformers and power distribution systems
Troubleshoot complex electrical and installation issues and develop effective field solutions
Monitor manpower, material requirements, installation sequencing, and field productivity
Identify constructability issues, material shortages, manpower needs, and other potential impacts to production
Maintain quality control and ensure installations meet project drawings, specifications, and applicable electrical codes
Conduct toolbox talks and reinforce company and OSHA safety requirements
Train, mentor, and provide direction to electricians and apprentices
Maintain professional communication between field crews, project supervision, management, clients, and other trades
Lead by example and maintain a safe, organized, professional, and productive jobsite
Required Qualifications:
Verifiable experience as an Electrical Foreman, Lead Electrician, or comparable electrical field leader
Strong hands-on background in industrial electrical construction
Demonstrated experience leading electrical crews and managing daily field production
Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and terminations
Strong knowledge of EMT, Rigid, PVC, cable tray, wire pulling, and electrical equipment installation
Experience with large conductor pulls and terminations up to 750 kcmil
Experience with 3-phase electrical systems and terminations
Experience with industrial control panels, PLCs, and motor controls
Knowledge of transformers, power distribution, and high-voltage systems
Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues and develop effective solutions
Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, one-lines, drawings, and technical documents
Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA safety standards
Ability to train, mentor, and direct electricians and apprentices
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Proficient with electrical testing equipment and standard hand and power tools
Ability to safely operate boom lifts and scissor lifts; practical evaluation may be required
Should hold an active OSHA 30 certification
Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check
Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Reliable transportation
Strong attendance and work ethic
Ability to work extended hours and weekends based on project requirements
Compensation:
$40.00-$50.00 per hour
Compensation will be determined based on industrial electrical experience, previous Foreman and leadership experience, technical capabilities, ability to independently lead crews and scopes of work, project experience, and travel availability.
Candidates approaching $50/hour should be prepared to support national travel projects as business and project demands require.
Eligible traveling employees may receive $150/day per diem, paid 7 days per week .
Per diem eligibility applies to employees traveling from outside the applicable project area and will be determined based on project assignment and company policy.
Schedule:
Electrical Foremen should be prepared to work approximately 50-70+ hours per week, depending on project requirements.
Schedules may include Monday-Friday, Saturdays, Sundays, extended shifts, overtime, shutdowns, and critical project schedules.
Flexibility is required based on project demands.

What We're Looking For:
We are looking for more than an experienced electrician.
We need strong field leaders who can run work.
The right Foreman should be capable of stepping onto a project, reviewing the drawings and scope, organizing manpower, directing electricians and apprentices, coordinating with project supervision, identifying problems before they impact production, and ensuring installations are completed safely and correctly.
You should be comfortable holding your crew accountable while also being willing to work alongside them when necessary.
