This is a paid, hands-on path toward a Montana Journeyman Plumber license — not a helper job with no future. Bozeman's construction market is busy year-round: new homes, multifamily, remodels, and commercial work. You will learn the trade on real jobs, under supervision, while we sponsor your registered apprenticeship and related classroom instruction. ~What you will do~ • Assist with layout, rough-in, and trim of water, drain, waste, and vent systems • Cut, measure, assemble, and install pipe and fittings (PEX, copper, PVC, CPVC, cast iron, and related materials) • Help install and replace fixtures, water heaters, boilers, and related equipment • Support freeze-protection, snowmelt, and hydronic work common in Gallatin County winters • Read basic plans and follow Montana plumbing code and company standards • Keep the job site clean, organized, and safe • Show up on time, ready to work, and take direction from licensed plumbers • Log hours and complete related technical instruction as required by the apprenticeship ~What we offer~ • Competitive hourly pay with raises as you advance through the apprenticeship • Paid on-the-job training under a licensed Master Plumber • Sponsorship and support for Montana registered apprenticeship / related instruction • Overtime opportunities • Medical, dental, and vision insurance (after eligibility period) • Paid time off and paid holidays • Tool and boot stipend after probation • A clear path from apprentice to Journeyman in a market that needs licensed plumbers ~Requirements~ ~Must have~ • 18 years of age or older • High school diploma or GED • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation • Ability to work legally in the United States • Willingness to register as a plumbing apprentice with the State of Montana and enroll in (or continue) an approved apprenticeship program • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical • Willingness to work outdoors in Bozeman winters and summers, in crawl spaces, basements, and unfinished buildings ~Nice to have~ • Current Montana apprentice plumber registration • 6+ months of construction, mechanical, or plumbing labor experience • Basic tools of the trade • Familiarity with the Uniform Plumbing Code • Mechanical aptitude and comfort with math (measurements, offsets, pipe sizing) ~Physical demands~ This is physical work. You must be able to stand, kneel, crawl, climb, work overhead, and lift 50 lbs regularly (up to 100 lbs occasionally). ~How Montana licensing works (so you know what you are signing up for)~ Montana requires plumbing work to be performed by licensed plumbers or registered apprentices working under a licensed Master Plumber. A typical registered plumbing apprenticeship runs about 4-5 years, with roughly 8,000 hours of on-the-job training plus related classroom instruction.
