Much of the day is spent flexing your creativity and attention to detail: merchandising a beautiful optical boutique, managing inventory, and fitting patients with the perfect pair(s) of glasses. As part of a tight-knit team, you are crossed-trained to front desk and pre-testing duties. As an apprentice, you are on a professional development track. Back Bay Eye Care is an independent Optometry practice and boutique optical shop. We are a growing practice, and we're looking to expand our team. The optician apprenticeship program at Back Bay Eye Care is registered with the Division of Apprenticeship Standards in Massachusetts. We provide instruction, mentorship, and on-the-job learning. The apprentice is also expected to complete home study for their board licensure exams (three exams, typically taken over the course of three years). We understand that an apprenticeship program requires a significant investment of time on the part of the company and the apprentice.
