Construction Apprentice
Limited Apprentice Positions Available
Alyeska Builders is a locally owned general contractor serving Interior Alaska, and we're looking for motivated individuals who want to learn the carpentry trade, develop valuable skills, and build a long-term career in construction. You don't need years of carpentry experience to get started. We're looking for people with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the drive to become skilled construction professionals.
Apprentice positions are limited, and we select candidates who demonstrate reliability, initiative, a positive attitude, and a genuine interest in building a career in the trades. As a Carpenter Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced carpenters and construction professionals while gaining hands-on experience on real projects.
Depending on our current projects and crew needs, you may gain experience in:
Rough Carpentry
Framing
Roofing
Windows & doors
Siding
Structural carpentry
Finish Carpentry
Flooring
Interior trim
Interior doors
Cabinets
Tile and specialty finishes
Drywall
Hanging
Taping
Mudding
Sanding
Texturing
Concrete
Foundations
Flatwork
Decorative concrete
Formwork
Finishing
Epoxy coatings
Dirt Work / Operating Crew
Excavation & site prep
Trenching
Grading
Equipment operation (skid steer, excavator, loader, etc.)
Backfill & compaction
Road and pad building
You'll have the opportunity to develop your skills, take on greater responsibility, and work toward becoming a Journeyman Carpenter.

What We're Looking For
Previous construction experience is helpful, but not required for the right candidate.
We're looking for applicants who have:
A valid driver's license
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
Ability to regularly lift 50+ pounds
Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
Willingness to learn and accept instruction
Positive attitude and team-first mentality
Interest in developing professional carpentry skills
Desire to build a long-term career in construction
Employment Requirements
As part of the Alyeska Builders team, employees are expected to:
Maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Complete OSHA-10 certification before employment (company-provided if needed).
Complete one company-approved continuing education course every six months (provided by the company and completed on your own time).
Report any driving violations that may affect employment responsibilities.

Monday-Friday
Overtime and occasional Saturdays during the busy construction season
