This position provides an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in developing a career in the plumbing trade while gaining valuable hands-on experience working alongside experienced plumbing professionals. The ideal candidate will be dependable, mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and committed to providing quality workmanship and exceptional customer service. The Plumbing Apprentice will assist with plumbing installations, maintenance, repairs, and commercial/new construction work while developing the skills and knowledge necessary to advance within the trade. Essential Responsibilities Assist Plumbing Technicians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and new construction plumbing systems. Assist with installation and replacement of pipes, fixtures, valves, drains, pumps, water heaters, and other plumbing components. Learn to properly use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and plumbing equipment. Assist with identifying leaks, clogs, drainage issues, and other plumbing system problems. Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing plumbing issues under the direction of experienced technicians. Learn to read and understand basic plumbing plans, drawings, and specifications. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Load, unload, organize, and maintain tools, equipment, and materials. Complete customer paperwork, records, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, contractors, and other job-site personnel. Maintain positive customer relationships and represent Alexander Mechanical in a professional manner. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable codes. Participate in company training and ongoing skills development. Assist Plumbing Technicians with repairs, installations, and other duties as needed. MUST HAVE QUALIFICATONS: Previous plumbing, construction, mechanical, or trade experience preferred but not required. Strong interest in pursuing a career in the plumbing trade. Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills. Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools or willingness to learn. Strong work ethic and dependable attendance. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to learn and follow plumbing codes, safety procedures, and company standards. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. OSHA 10 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to climb ladders and work in mechanical rooms, crawl spaces, rooftops, and confined spaces as needed. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, and work overhead for extended periods. Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions. Ability to safely use hand and power tools and perform physically demanding tasks associated with plumbing and mechanical work.
