Responsibilities: - Assist journeyman/journeywoman plumbers in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems in residential and commercial buildings - Assemble and install pipes and fittings according to blueprints and specifications - Cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand tools or machines - Install plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, and water heaters - Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure proper coordination of plumbing installations - Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs on plumbing systems - Maintain a clean and organized work area Skills: - Mechanical knowledge and aptitude for working with tools - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings - Basic understanding of pipe threading techniques - Familiarity with HVAC systems is a plus - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team - Excellent communication skills Note: This position is ideal for individuals with a background in construction, maintenance person work, or carpentry who are looking to expand their skills in the plumbing trade. Apprentices will receive on-the-job training from experienced plumbers and have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in the field.
