- Demonstrates the ability to service vehicles by changing oil and oil filters and lubricating chassis.
- Demonstrates the ability to inspect vehicles for such defects as damaged or worn exhaust systems, leaking hoses, seals pinion and rear axle seals, faulty wheel bearings, defective vehicle lighting brakes, windshield wipers and glass, and makes necessary repairs.
- Demonstrates the ability to remove and replace radiators, radiator hoses, fan belts, water pumps, batteries, battery cables, alternators, voltage regulators, starters, and various other components.
- Demonstrates the ability to inspect, replace wheel bearings, brake linings and pads, springs and all brake hardware as required.
- Demonstrates the ability to replace fuses, mirrors and head, tail, clearance, and parking lights, and adjust doors, windows, and hoods.
- Demonstrates the ability to keep record of work performed, parts used, and time worked.
- Demonstrates the ability to assist Equipment Mechanic in higher level mechanical procedures.
- Demonstrate the ability to work with alternate fuel.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform equipment inspections.
- Demonstrates the ability to adhere to safe working practices related to all assigned job duties.
