On-the-job training
  • Performing Basic Welding (Welding Principles)
    • Measure a 2” schedule 80 pipe wall thickness to plus/minus .003" using a caliper/micrometer
    • Measure a 2" schedule 80 pipe ID and OD using a dial caliper/micrometer to plus or minus .005"
    • Determine what type of discontinuity or defect
    • Measure discontinuity or defect
  • Completing a 6G pipe qualification
    • Perform fit up of 2” schedule 160 6G pipe coupons
    • Perform weld of 2” schedule 160 6G pipe coupon (ER6010 root ER7018 fill and cover)
  • Conducting proper usage of tools & equipment
    • Set-up the hydraulic torque machine
    • Calculate and set a torque multiplier
    • Set-up and use hand-type pullers
    • Set-up and use hydraulic pullers
    • Select a drill bit related to tap size
    • Drill and tap a piece of carbon steel with a 1/2-13 NC thread

    • Assist with compressor troubleshooting
