Location: Hattie Mae White Department: Principal Academies Area:District Wide Contract Months:12 Salary Range: $100,000.00 - Academic Year: 25-26 POSITION SUMMARY The Principal Apprentice will have the extraordinary opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education by both experiencing in house training with our Leadership and Professional Development department and by participating as a principal apprentice with a mentor working on campus. This role combines visionary leadership, instructional expertise, and effective management skills to create an innovative learning environment that meets the needs of students in the 21st century. The Principal Apprentice will be responsible for supporting the principal in all aspects of the school's operations, fostering a positive culture, and ensuring the implementation of the HISD Characteristics and Year 2035 Competencies. This role is a one-year at will position. ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES • Assist in School Leadership: Collaborate with the school principal to develop, implement, and evaluate school improvement plans, policies, and procedures. • Instructional Support: Student Support: Foster a positive school culture and climate conducive to student learning and well-being. • Implement strategies to support student achievement, behavior management, and socio-emotional development. • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance leadership skills, educational knowledge, and administrative competencies. • Parent and Community Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, guardians, community members, and local organizations.
