Houston Community College has received recognition from the Department of Labor as an Apprenticeship Ambassador committed to modernizing, diversifying, and expanding Registered Apprenticeship to support the success of American workers, employers, and communities across the country.

Profile

As a solution for the lack of skilled maintenance technicians in the industry, we created Pro U. This program is a United States D.O.L. Journeyman Maintenance Apprenticeship where we train students to become IRTs (Industrial Reliability Technicians). Once training is complete, these techs funnel into our Pro FMT® division.

This program starts with 14 weeks of in-house classroom, laboratory, and hands-on experience at our training center in Portage, Michigan, followed by on-the-job training at a client facility.

After completion of the two-year program, apprentices are awarded their Maintenance Mechanic Journeyman Card.

Pro Services is a licensed State of Michigan Proprietary Training Institution.
